It’s official! The Japanese manga series turned anime TV Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a mobile game version that will add to your favorite role-playing games. The rumor started circulating last year, which the developer Sumzap later confirmed along with a teaser website. Today that website says that Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade, the official title of the game, will be out by 2022.
Here’s everything to know about its possible gameplay, mechanics, confirmed characters, and rumored release dates.
Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade Gameplay and Characters
Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade will be a free-to-play game, according to Sumzap. However, there will also be some sort of in-game currencies for a chance to draw exclusive items and possibly characters. That’s right, the game may involve gacha mechanics and a pity system that may require players a little bit of grinding.
Speaking of characters, first-year Tokyo Jujutsu High students Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki are joining as playable characters. In a battle showcase, the three students are seen fighting a wave of hideous monsters using their unique skills. The teaser suggests that the Jujutsu Kaisen game will involve turn-based tactics in a 2D setup.
The trio is joined by Kento Nanami who serves as their mentor in the battle. Satoru Gojo will also be appearing in the game and might also play as a mentor to the next jujutsu sorcerers.
In addition to the original casts, three new and exclusive characters are confirmed to be joining the game namely: Rindo Saki, Yuki Kaito, and Nagino Kensuke. Here are the rest of the characters that will make an appearance in the game according to roles:
