Mobile Apps

For sports fans, there’s always a need to be kept updated with the current happenings of their favorite sport. Whether it be the NBA or the NFL, the fans would always want to know what’s currently happening. Thus, the Bally Sports app is here to take the niche. However, before we can talk about Bally Sports, we need to talk about FOX Sports Go first.

What Is The FOX Sports Go App?

FOX Sports Go is a streaming platform that allows users to watch streams of their favorite sports. With this app, users can access regional sports in the US like NHL, NBA, and the NCAA. However, the app was eventually replaced by the Bally Sports App. This is because of several deals to purchase Fox’s entertainment assets. Thus, as of right now, Fox Sports Go is now relaunched as part of the Bally Sports programming.

Bally Sports App Subscription & Payment

Bally Sports is accessed by being subscribed to certain streaming providers. These include Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, Sling TV, AT&T TV, and Youtube TV. Do note though that these aren’t the only ones that offer Bally Sports on their subscription services. Thus, it’s technically an add-on that users gain from subscribing to these streaming services.

Good Features

First, we’ll start with what the Bally Sports App (Fox Sports Go) offers best.

Sports Betting

Users of the app can bet on the outcome of various sports events that are shown in the app.

Live Games

Bally Sports also streams games live, allowing players to see the outcome of games firsthand.

Live Stats and Highlights

Users of the app can check out live stats of teams currently playing, as well as highlights on a match.

International Access

Users of Bally Sports can watch sports events anytime, anywhere — thanks to having international access.

Not So Good Features

However, with all those mentioned good offerings, some features also hamper the app’s performance.

No Parental Controls

Because the app streams live sports events, there are no parental controls. Thus, parents need to supervise their children if they don’t want them to watch certain sports.

Ads

Bally Sports App also runs advertisements on live telecasts. These advertisements usually appear on sports commercial breaks or time-outs. There are also times when the app will give out pre-roll advertisements, especially during on-demand content and highlights.

Register Up To 3 Devices

Sadly, as we’ve mentioned, only 3 devices can be registered to the service. Thus, it’s difficult if you have multiple people who want to watch sports at the same time.

In addition, some features don’t work well like fast forward and rewind not working, loading errors, and more. There are even times when it doesn’t connect on Chromecast properly, or straight up disconnects when in use.

Bally Sports App VS Other Sports Streaming Apps

Now that we’ve talked about Bally Sports, let’s talk about other sport streaming apps available. We’ll start with theScore: Sports News & Scores Alternatives; followed by FloSports: Watch Live Sports Alternatives; and lastly, Bleacher Report: Sports News Alternatives.

theScore: Sports News & Scores

theScore app is one of the better apps to keep an eye on sports news. It’s one of the best sports apps on this list. The app has a lot of things under the hood to keep users up-to-date with the latest sports news. In addition, they cover a lot of bases from NBA, NFL, MMA, and more. Unfortunately, they don’t have any live showings of sports events.

FloSports

Next up is FloSports, another sports streaming app that shares the same features as Bally Sports. Do note though that FloSports doesn’t stream the NBA but instead shows international sports events. In addition to this, they also stream some original films and exclusive coverage.

Unfortunately, the app still has similar problems with Bally Sports in Chromecast like unwanted disconnection, slow buffering, and more. Also, it’s not free; you need to subscribe to it for you to enjoy its features.

Bleacher Report

Last on this list is Bleacher Report: Sports News Alternatives. This one is similar to theScore app with the same problems. It doesn’t have any streaming, it’s all news. Still, it’s a decent alternative and it allows you to keep track of various sports events.
