Valorant Mobile Release Date Leaks, Speculations, and Preview

Mobile Games

Valorant, Riot Games’ first foray into the first-person shooter genre, spread like a virus around the world in 2020. It has reached at least 14 million active players each month before it even marks its first year. People had a great time playing it on PC, but there’s also a huge player base that wants it on a hand-held device. Thankfully, the developer obliged and announced that Valorant Mobile is their next project. This brings the question, “when is the Valorant Mobile release date?”

Valorant Mobile Release Dates Speculations

Riot Games first made the announcement that they are bringing Valorant to the mobile ecosystem during its first-anniversary celebration in June 2021. In several news releases, Anna Donlon, an executive producer at the game company, was quoted saying that they will “soon offer the same competitive VALORANT experience to even more global players”.

This is not the first time that Riot Games ports its games to mobile devices. In 2020, its highly successful MOBA game made its arrival on Android and iOS with League of Legends Wild Rift as its title. Even its fiercest competitor, Electronic Arts, is also in full gear at porting some of its best-selling titles to mobile. Apex Legends Mobile was just recently released, while its other FPS game, Battlefield Mobile, is underway.

A year after announcing the project, however, updates about the Valorant Mobile release date are few and far between. Some leaks suggest that its development is already ongoing, but there’s nothing much to say about its release window except we don’t know. Although Valorant Mobile’s closed beta apparently took place in China in April, balancing the game afterward will take time as any game would.

We’ll be sure to update this page as new information about Valorant Mobile’s release date arise.

Valorant Mobile Leaks

Riot Games is a little secretive about the details of Valorant Mobile’s development, but several leaked images of the beta gave us a few glimpses of what the game would look like. A series of images shared by credible leakers on Twitter has revealed that, indeed, Riot Games has conducted a closed beta on a whim.

Gamer and creator, @DannyIntel, posted on Twitter some images of what looks like an Agent selection screen of Valorant. Player characters like Breach, Jett, Killjoy, Phoenix, Reyna, Skye, and Sova are available during the closed beta. However, it is not confirmed whether they will make the final roster of Valorant agents on mobile.

@ValorantMNews also shared a short clip captured during the playtest, giving us a more concrete view of Valorant Mobile’s gameplay. The 45-seconder clip shows two teams competing in capture-the-flag mechanics where they have to control specific points on the map while racing for the highest score. This confirms the news shared by @ValorLeaks in February that a capture-the-flag game mode for Valorant is under development.

That’s what we know so far about Valorant Mobile. While waiting for the actual game, here are some games like Valorant that we thought you would love.
