Make way Apple, there are mobile phones that might potentially come with three cameras as well.

For non-iOS users, the Moto G8 or Moto G8 Plus will make you be a part of the latest three-camera trend. It’s still unclear which Motorola mobile phone model will feature the three cameras. But based on the recent reports, it could be the higher-end among the upcoming Moto G Series.

A prototype named XT2019-1 or XT2019-2 is currently in the midst of work. The XDA Developers said that the Moto G8 or G8 Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s 11nm Snapdragon chipset, which is more powerful than the chipset in the Moto G7.

 

Moto G8 Triple Cameras Features

Reports suggest that the smartphone will have a setup of triple cameras at the back. It will feature a 48MP primary sensor with 4-in-1 pixel binning, the secondary camera features 16MP wide-angle camera, while the third camera will have a 5MP depth sensor.

The phone is said to feature a 25MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

There are rumors said that the smartphone will come in two colors: blue and red. On the other hand, there could also be other variations. However, the displays size and resolution of the Moto G8 will be similar to the Moto G7. It is expected to feature a 6.3” display with Full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio.

In terms of storage space, the mobile phone will be available in various storage sizes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.1 storage.

 

Moto’s G8 Software

The smartphone will run on Android 9 Pie. Thus, it’s not part of the Android One program. With that, this mobile phone is expected to have Motorola’s UI customization on top along with apps such as Moto Actions and Moto Display.

The Launch of the Moto G8 or Moto G8 Plus

There’s no definite yet regarding the launch of the smartphone. But according to many reports and reliable sources, the phone will likely to launch at the same time as the Moto G8 Play in the coming months.

The phone is also expected to be released first in Latin America as it is where their strongest market is.

 

The Rise of Triple Cameras on Android Phones

The truth, it was Huawei that first introduced a triple-camera setup with its Huawei P20 Pro. Since then, other brands followed and jumped on the bandwagon.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus feature three cameras on the rear. Both smartphones feature a 16MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP standard lens, and a 12MP 2x telephoto lens.

There’s also the LG V50 ThinQ that features a standard 12MP with an f/1.5 aperture, a 16MP f/1.9 wide-angle, and a telephoto with 12MP and an f/2.4 aperture. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is the first phone of the brand with a triple-camera setup with a 48MP f/1.75 primary lens, a 12MP f/2.2 telephoto lens, and a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens.

 

The Benefits of Triple-Camera Setups

A triple-camera setup is said to deliver higher-quality photos. In fact, one of its main benefits is that it can provide higher resolution images that are ideal for printing.

Also, an additional camera can improve light conditions in a photo, thanks to its high-speed monochrome sensor that comes with better light sensitivity. Its multi-aperture is important to deliver high-quality images as well.

The triple-camera setup also allows users to zoom further to capture more details. Believe it or not, this setup is said to be better with the details, especially with distant captures.

One of the most sought-after features of a triple-camera setup is its ability to take wide-angle images. So, instead of the square size photo, with a triple camera, users can capture more with a wider snap. Plus, it’s supposed to look even more appealing when you upload it on your social media accounts.

The triple-camera setup that is expected to come for the Moto G8 or Moto G8. Plus it is a good move by the brand as their Moto G Series is one of the best budget smartphones today.
