One might wonder that with Supercell’s recent success with Clash of Clans, they’ll rest on their laurels. But nope. They decided to go for the gold and released Clash Royale, another great addition to their games list. Here, we’re going to tell you about the Clash Royale APK.
What is Clash Royale?
Clash Royale can almost be seen as a sequel to Clash of Clans. And from day 1 of its soft launch, it became clear immediately that Supercell had a success on its hands. They figured something out that countless MOBAs, first-person shooters, and the other game have didn’t do.
They created a frenetic real-time multiplayer game on mobile that encourages players and creates money without feeling unfair. it is simple to spend a lot of money on Clash Royale, but you’ll sink hours into it simply because you enjoy it.
Clash Royale may be a collectible game that meets a real-time strategy game and a MOBA. you have got a deck of 8 cards, with 4 in your hand at only once. you employ the elixir, a work unit that recharges over time, to summon cards onto the battlefield. Then, you deploy them to attack the enemy’s crown towers within the 2 lanes each having a tower, together with a middle king tower.
Destroy a crown tower, and you’ll track the king tower. Destroy the king tower, and you win, though you have got to try to so in 3 minutes, with the second providing double elixir. Otherwise, the player who has destroyed more crown towers is that the victor. If towers are tied, then there is a 1-minute extra time overtime where the primary person to destroy a tower – crown or king – wins. The King Tower however will inflict a lot of damage so be advised.
Similarities & Differences From Clash of Clans?
The game is related to Clash of Clans, true. But the similarities are all over the place. Other than the art style and some units, the gameplay itself is fundamentally different.
Clash of Clans
Clash of Clans is a game where your focus is around a village, over which you rule. You are supposed to defend the said village by attacking others.
In this way, you can attain their materials as loot to upgrade your village. This helps in modifying and improving your defenses against those who want to take your materials while you’re away.
Clash Royale is a game that’s centered on cards and tournaments. Unlike Clans, your resources are given to you. This means you don’t have to fight to find any. People cannot attack you if you’re not playing the app.
You don’t have a village; instead, you have a battle deck, which is made of the cards (troops) that you can use against other players in attack.
Playing against someone makes you to use troops, the same ones you use in Clash of Clans. Once you’ve deployed the maximum number of troops, however, your elixir regenerates (unlike clans) and you wait until you can deploy more troops again. Theoretically speaking, there’s no limit as to how much you can deploy, not like in Clans.
In addition to this, there’s also a difference in troops. If slightly.
In Clans, your troops’ level is determined based on the level of your village. Improving your training barracks ensures the guarantee that you will have higher level troops than the ones in the level before.
In Royale, however, your troops come out of chests. And are ranked from common to legendary levels. What comes out of the chests is a random chance of getting either-or, so there’s no guarantee that you’ll get higher-tiered troops on a chest. Much like a gacha game, really.
There are a few minor differences in the names, as well.
- Clans don’t have Mini PEKKAs, Mega Knights, Electro Wizards, and many more troops besides
- “Princess” unit in Clash Royale is named “Archer Queen” in Clash of Clans
- Clash Royale’s “Inferno Dragon” is more known as the “Dragon” unit in Clash of Clans
- The “Knight” unit in Clash Royale is not the Clash of Clans’ “Barbarian”, but is more like the knight version of the barbarian. This unit is also bigger than the Barbarian units from Clash of Clans.

Can You Install Mods on Clash Royale?
Like other server-based games, you can’t install mods on Clash Royale by yourself. This is because it’s a hard endeavor to create mods for the game as it’s a server-based gacha game. These games usually have game data for players stored on servers in other locations most of the time. So most of the usual modding methods aren’t possible. As an example, CLEO (one of the best-modding programs out there) has no possible entryway to this.
Why You Must Not Install Mods?
As an example, let’s look at another server-based gacha game: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. The data for your account isn’t placed on your phone (Well, some is. But not all of them). It’s on servers in Japan or the US. This depends on which Server you’re playing the game on, JP or Global.
There are also other servers like CN(China) But most of the time, it’s usually on either Japan or the US. Usually, the modders would tinker with the files inside the platform you’re playing. This time your android or iOS smartphone. And they manipulate the values inside. Usually, these values are numerical. From currency, attack and defense values of many characters, god mode for them, et cetera.
This type of numerical manipulation is NOT possible if the data are placed on outbound servers. As it’s typically protected with firewalls and protections that’s different in comparison to your smartphone. This is to prevent the modification of various player accounts to add unfair advantages to them. Some games, like in Arknights has not much of a problem as there’s no real PvP aspect to the gameplay. But what if these kinds of things were happening in a game where there IS PvP?
PVP Being Fair
An example of a game like this with PvP would be this game, Clash Royale. Where it’s pretty much ingrained on the gameplay of the game. All characters that you have in your roster are usable on the PvP. Having access to artificially boosting your unit’s stats through a hack? Well, that’s not fair to your fellow players, right?
This is why those games have tough protections against these artificially buffing your characters. And if somehow, someway you managed to do this? Well, there’s only one option available to the developers: And that’s Account Bans. In short, you will be unable to play the account that you made anymore. Especially if you’re caught using 3rd party software to boost your account in any manner.
Cracking Down on Mods & Cheats
Azur Lane (another server-based gacha game). It is infamous for displaying a Wall of Shame on their social media accounts of players who were caught hacking the game. Added to the salt in the wounds is that it’s periodically updated every time there’s an event being released. So if you’re on of the players playing this game all while cheating and it’s devs caught you red-handed?
Well, too bad for you. Your account’s name shall be shown on their social media accounts for everyone to see, in addition to the complete ban of the account in question. In layman’s terms? All that hard work, time, and maybe money in getting the cute and sexy characters in the game? All that’s gonna go down the drain (Goodbye Enterprise. Unfortunately, your Admiral was a piece of cheating hot garbage).
Presence of Mods & Hacks
However, there are modders for Clash Royale. These modders made a mod for the game. See, some people think the game is awesome, but they believe that it’s hampered by the lack of resources when you start (unless you purchase said resources).
Thus, these third-party developers created a private server known as CR Mods to compensate. The servers have features like unlimited gems, money, infinite chest, removing the time to unlock said chests, and so much more. If you want a complete list of mods that they made, here’s the list:
- No-root needed
- Unlimited resources (gold & gems)
- All emotes fully unlocked
- A working private server
- Push trophies and reach on higher leagues
- Custom cards & commands are available
- Weekly updates & new cards available
- Command feature & 100% free
- Infinite chests
As for where to download it, you can find the download here. Do note that this is not an official server of Clash Royale and it’s typically recommended to NOT use your main account here. Unless you want to be served the banhammer.
What’s the difference between the official app vs the APK?
There’s no real difference. The only thing different is the fact that you have a copy of the Clash Royale APK in which you can install on other platforms as well. Platforms like Bluestacks and Nox. So never fear. You won’t miss anything much when you install the Clash Royale APK version instead. If you downloaded the modded version, well, there’s a huge amount of differences on the OG and modded version of the game. Which was discussed in the above section?
What are the advantages of playing the APK version?
Well, as mentioned above, having the Clash Royale APK gives you the capability to install on other platforms. But that’s not the only thing it affords you. Even in the APK version, there’s still a way for you to participate on the PvP, as it’s only really the fact that you’re using the Clash Royale APK to install the game rather than on Google Play that’s the difference between installing through APK and Google Play.
