If you are looking for the cheapest way to make unlimited international calls on your mobile phone, Rebtel's actual subscription products, Global Unlimited and Country Unlimited, replace the unverified $1/month offer with documented, fixed-price plans. These subscriptions let you call landlines and mobiles in a select country or across 50 countries as much as you want during the subscription period, without per-minute charges.
What are Rebtel's unlimited international calls plans?
Rebtel's unlimited international calling is available through two subscription products. Global Unlimited provides unlimited calls to any landlines and mobiles in 50 countries for a monthly fee. Country Unlimited lets you call mobiles or landlines in a single selected country as much as you want during the subscription period. Both plans require an active monthly subscription or Rebtel Credits to start calling, and they are designed to give you predictable, low-cost access to international calling and plans without worrying about per-minute rates.
How to set up the Rebtel app for calling
To begin making unlimited international calls, you first need to set up the Rebtel app on your phone. Follow these steps:
- Download the Rebtel app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- Open the app and create your Rebtel account.
- Navigate to the Home screen.
- Tap the little green button in the top right corner of the screen to open the call setup page.
- Buy a Monthly Subscription (Global Unlimited or Country Unlimited) or add Rebtel Credits to have an active calling offer.
Once your subscription is active, you can immediately start placing unlimited calls to your chosen countries.
How to choose your call connection method
Rebtel gives you control over how your calls connect, so you can optimize for quality or cost. From the call setup page, you will see three connection options: Phone lines, Wi‑Fi, and Data. You can turn each option on or off, when the button beside an option is red, it is selected, and when it is greyed out, it is turned off. You may select one, several, or all options. You can drag and drop connection options to set the order the app tries them. For example, if you want the app to try Wi‑Fi first, then Data, then Phone lines, simply drag them into that order.
How to use Travel Mode to avoid roaming charges
When you travel outside your home country, roaming charges can quickly add up. Rebtel’s Travel Mode helps you avoid those costs. To enable it, open the call setup settings from the green button on the Home screen and turn on Travel Mode. With Travel Mode active, you can place calls using Wi‑Fi, mobile data, or local access numbers instead of your carrier’s roaming network. This keeps your unlimited international calling plan working affordably wherever you go.
Additional features and supported devices
Rebtel’s app is available for both iPhone and Android devices that can install apps from the App Store or Google Play. The unlimited calling plans are not limited to a specific phone model. One notable feature is International Numbers, which is available only for Rebtel users in the U.S. and requires the latest version installed. Beyond voice calls, Rebtel offers text messaging in addition to voice calls.
