Mobile Games

Last month, we’ve shared a piece of exciting news that Apex Legends Mobile will have a soft launch in select regions. The exact date was unknown, but that “soon” is now upon us. EA and Respawn have announced that Apex Legends Mobile downloads are now available in several countries as of March 7 PST. What’s even more exciting is that it is no longer limited to Android; friends on iOS can join the party too.

Apex Legends Mobile is still initially available in 10 countries that we have mentioned in our previous update. It includes Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Colombia. If you are residing in those countries, you can simply head over to Apex Legends’ App Store and Play Store page to download and play the game ahead of others.

The regional launch is part of Apex Legends Mobile’s milestone as it reaches the final stages of development. In exchange for having the privilege of early access, the developers encourage the players to send their feedback and what they want to see in the game. That said, the game is almost complete and the limited release will provide no less than a fun free-firing experience as your favorite Legend.

The limited access to Apex Legends Mobile will run throughout the Spring as the developers continue with polishing in-game systems and features prior to global launch.

Apex Legends Mobile Downloadable Content Is Limited

That’s right, Apex Legends Mobile won’t be giving everything away on its regional release for the obvious reason. However, major systems and features will still be available for testing such as Battle Royale, Multiplayer, and Ranked Match.

So far, the Battle Royale Mode has two maps: the World’s Edge, which you can unlock after the Rookie Tutorial, and the Kings Canyon, which will be available on March 29 (UTC-8). Multiplayer also has two maps available: the TDM Market and the ARENAS: Thermal Station, which you can unlock upon reaching levels 5 and 10, respectively. Lastly, you have to reach level 8 to join a Ranked Match.

As for the Legends, players will be able to play Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, Octane, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Caustic.

Device Requirement to Make Apex Legends Mobile Download

At the bare minimum, Apex Legends Mobile can run on iOS devices with at least 2GB RAM and Android devices with at least 3GB RAM during the limited regional release. Specific brands with 2GB RAM like Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, Motorola, Samsung, Lenovo, and Xiaomi will also be able to run the game. However, EA noted that this is not yet the final list and compatible devices may still grow as they optimize the Apex Legends Mobile for the global launch. Here’s the complete system requirement to play the game:

For Android:

  • Android 8.1
  • Open GL 3.0 or higher
  • 3 GB free space
  • At least 3 GB RAM
  • Screens size: N/L/XL

For iOS:

  • iPhone 6S or later
  • OS version: 10.0 or later
  • CPU: A9
  • 3 GB free space
  • At least 2GB RAM

So, When Is Apex Legends Mobile’s Official Global Release?

This is a million-dollar question that many want an answer to. However, EA and Respawn have been very sparing at sharing updates on the exact global launch of the mobile version of the shooting game. Given that they are speeding up the development, we will stick to our previous projections that Apex Legends Mobile might be ready by the third quarter of 2022.
