Ayaka Kamisato hails from Inazuma’s Kamisato clan. Because she is from the Yashiro Commission, Ayaka is held in high regard by her peers. She is also known as the “Shirasagi Himegimi” or the White Heron Princess because of her dedication towards the people of Inazuma. She makes it a point to personally assist in all the situations that she encounters. Hence, the people of Inazuma hold Ayaka refer to her with sincere admiration.

She has a fondness for people who can achieve great feats, which is why she is drawn towards the Traveler. In her belief, fate dictates everything — even friendship — which is why she has accepted wielding her weapon as her fate.

Ayaka is a five-star Cryo character that wields a sword. She joins the roster of playable Genshin Impact characters as of the 2.0 update.

How to Get Ayaka on Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact’s Ayaka, as mentioned, is a five-star character. She is available only for a limited time on special character banners. To get a chance to wish for her, you will have to wait for the next character banner that she will appear in.

Ayaka’s first character banner is the first feature banner of the 2.0 update. Ayaka is joined by Yanfei, Ningguang, and Chongyun in this banner that ran from July 21, 2021, to August 10, 2021.

As Genshin Impact is a gacha game, you will have to rely on your luck in getting Ayaka. There is no guarantee that you will get her immediately. You might need to do a couple of wishes on the banner before getting a chance of having Ayaka.

Of course, you can always rely on the game’s “Pity System” where there is a chance that you will have a guaranteed five-star character when you reach 70+ pulls. However, that still doesn’t mean that you will get the character of your choice as there are other factors that might interfere with your chances.

How to Use Ayaka on Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact characters have special skills or talents that are unique to them. Each character has Combat and Passive talents that are useful for combat and exploration. Leveling up Combat talents can be done by using Talent Level-up materials from certain domains. Additionally, character constellations can also help raise Talent effectiveness by +3.

While you can level up Combat talents, you cannot do the same for Passive talents. These talents are already at max level regardless of the rarity and level of the character that you have.

That said, here’s a quick overview of Ayaka’s talents:

Combat Talents

When assembling your build for Ayaka, it’s important to prioritize her Elemental Burst first then her Normal Attack. She deals the most damage with these two attacks. Save the Elemental Skill for last since you’ll only ever rely on this if you’re using a team with a permafreeze composition.

Kabuki (Normal Attack)
  • Normal Attack: Performs up to five rapid strikes.
  • Charged Attack: Unleashes a flurry of sword ki (consumes stamina).
  • Plunging Attack: Damages enemies within its proximity and deals AoE damage on impact.
Hyouka (Elemental Skill)
  • Summons and launches blooming ice to nearby opponents. This attack deals AoE Cryo damage.
Soumetsu (Elemental Burst)
  • Summons a snowstorm that unleashes a continuous Frostflake Seki no To. This attack deals Cryo damage that escalates to AoE Cryo damage when it ends.

Passive Talents

Always remember that Passive talents cannot be enhanced with materials. However, you can obtain talents by Character Ascension. Ayaka’s Alternate Sprint is also included in this category.

Senho (Alternate Sprint) Ayaka’s Alternate Sprint cloaks her in frozen fog. With this, she can move faster upon the water. This Alternate Sprint also applies Cryo to nearby opponents and infuses her attacks with Cryo for a few seconds.
Amatsumi Kunitsumi Sanctification (Unlocks at 1st Ascension) After using Hyouka (Elemental Skill), her Normal and Charged attacks will deal 30% additional damage for six seconds.
Kanten Senmyou Blessing

(Unlocks at 4th Ascension)

When enemies are afflicted with Cryo after Senho, Ayaka gains an 18% Cryo Damage Bonus for 10 seconds. This also restores 10 Stamina.
Fruits of Shinsa (Utility Passive) Whenever you use Ayaka for crafting weapons, there is a 10% chance of doubling the product.

What Are Ayaka’s Constellations?

Ayaka, like other Genshin Impact characters, has six constellations. Her constellation is the Grus Nivis which you can obtain by wishing in her Character banner.

While you don’t necessarily need to have all six constellations, these upgrades just help to enhance the abilities of the character. Constellations enhance all their attacks, the Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst. However, if you don’t have constellations of a character, you can still make up for it by building them properly.

Here is a quick rundown of Ayaka’s constellations:

  1. Snowswept Sakura – When her Normal or Charged attacks deal with Cryo Damage, it has the chance to decrease the cooldown of her Elemental Skill by 0.3 seconds.
  2. Blizzard Blade Saki no To – When Soumetsu is in effect, this unleashes two more Frostfale Seki no To which individually deals 20% more damage to the original storm’s damage.
  3. Frostbloom Kamifubuki – Increases Soumetsu’s level by three and makes its maximum upgrade Level 15.
  4. Ebb and Flow – Opponents damaged by Seki no To will have a decrease in defense for six seconds.
  5. Blossom Cloud Irutsuki – Increases the level of Hyouka by three and makes its maximum level upgrade Level 15.
  6. Dance of Suigetsu – Increases Ayaka’s Charged Attack damage by 298%.

Best Genshin Impact – Ayaka Build

This guide for Ayaka’s build will provide you with the best builds known in the game. Take note that weapons and artifacts are essential to the build. You might want to consider the arsenal that you already have in terms of those two elements so you can easily farm for better artifacts or craft better weapons.

Remember that you can only access certain domains depending on your adventure rank (AR). That said, you might also want to consider using substitutes if you haven’t unlocked the domains needed for the artifacts.

When it comes to weapons, there are pay-to-play and free-to-play options in this build. You do not have to make purchases to get great weapons. Some of the best weapons for Ayaka can be obtained through completing World Quests. In addition, the Battle Pass weapon, the Black Sword, is not among the recommended weapons for Ayaka. Keep that in mind when you’re forming your build for Ayaka on Genshin Impact.

Without further ado, here are the best builds for Genshin Impact’s Ayaka that you might want to try out.

Recommended Ayaka Build

Weapon Artifacts
  • Mistsplitter Reforged (5*)
  • Blackcliff Longsword (4*)
  • Amenoma Kageuchi (4*)
  • Four-piece Blizzard Strayer with focus on Attack percentage, Cryo Damage, and Crit Damage.
  • A complete Blizzard Strayer set grants a 20% increase in Crit Rate with opponents are affected by Cryo. When the enemy is frozen, the Crit Rate will increase by another 20% for a total of 40%.

The recommended build for Ayaka on Genshin Impact is with a four-piece Blizzard Strayer. As this artifact set is the ideal set for Cryo characters, this will complement Ayaka’s skill set the most.

When you have a complete Blizzard Strayer set, you’ll have an exponential increase in Crit Rate. This is great for Ayaka because her Alternate Sprint and Elemental Skill both afflict nearby opponents with Cryo. Using a four-piece Blizzard Strayer with a Cryo Damage Bonus piece will grant maximum damage for Ayaka.

The Mistsplitter Reforged will increase Ayaka’s Critical Damage and Elemental Damage Bonus. This is the ideal weapon for Ayaka because she heavily relies on her Burst for damage. If you don’t have this weapon, you can consider the Blackcliff Longsword or the Amenoma Kageuchi.

The Blackcliff Longsword also grants additional Crit Damage and increases Ayaka’s attack by 12-24% for 30 seconds. Lastly, the Amenoma Kageuchi, which you can obtain in a World Quest called The Farmer’s Treasure, increases her attack and regenerates energy. Ideally, this weapon should be your last option for her because this only increases her attack. Thus, this should be a sword to use when you don’t have access to the Mistsplitter or the Amenoma Kageuchi.

Support Ayaka Build

Weapon Artifacts
  • The Flute (4*)
  • Amenoma Kageuchi (4*)
  • The Black Sword (4*)
  • Two-piece Blizzard Strayer and two-piece Noblesse Oblige with a focus on Energy Recharge, Cryo Damage, and Elemental Mastery.
  • A two-piece Blizzard Strayer adds an additional 15% Cryo Damage Bonus and a two-piece Noblesse Oblige grants an additional 20% Elemental Burst Damage.

This Support Build still grants Ayaka with a lot of damage but this focuses only on the Burst where the bulk of her damage comes from. It’s best to focus a Support Ayaka build on the Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery because you will need those two stats to spam her Skill and her Burst. This is also great if you have an Anemo character (e.g. Kazuha and Venti) on the team as they can easily trigger a swirl.

In terms of weapons, The Flute deals 100-200% attack damage to nearby enemies. The Black Sword appears in the Support Build because Ayaka will still need to deal damage despite having a support build. The Black Sword increases Normal and Charged attacks as well as the Crit Rate. This weapon will come in handy since you won’t be relying on the artifacts for damage.

DPS Ayaka Build

Weapon Artifacts
  • Primordial Jade Cutter (5*)
  • Amenoma Kageuchi (4*)
  • The Flute (4*)
  • Two-piece Blizzard Strayer and two-piece Gladiator’s Finale with a focus on Attack percentage, Cryo Damage, or Crit Rate. Alternatively, you can also use a two-piece Gladiator’s Finale and a two-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence.
  • Both the two-piece Gladiator’s Finale and two-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence grants an 18% increase in the attack.

This DPS build focuses on dealing maximum damage with a Blizzard Strayer and Gladiator’s Finale combo. The two-piece Blizzard Strayer will add Cryo Damage Bonus while the two-piece Gladiator’s Finale adds an 18% Attack. This is great for dealing damage that compliments Ayaka’s Skill and Burst while dealing with normal attacks. On the other hand, you can also use a two-piece Gladiator’s Finale and Shimenawa’s Reminiscence for more Attack percentage. Either way, both builds will help you with a DPS Ayaka Genshin Impact build.

As for the weapons, you can rely on the Primordial Jade Cutter, Amenoma Kageuch, and The Flute. The Primordial Jade Cutter grants an increase in the Crit Rate while the two others grant an increase in Attack percentage.

What Is the Best Team Composition for Ayaka?

When building a team to compliment Ayaka, you want to have her as your main DPS. You will have to build your team around Ayaka since the bulk of her damage comes from her Elemental Burst. You will want a team that will help you get through fights while waiting for Ayaka’s burst to become available.

That said, here are the best team compositions for Ayaka:

F2P-Friendly Team Composition

Ayaka F2P Team

  1. Main DPS: Ayaka
  2. Sub DPS: Lisa
  3. Support: Kaeya
  4. Healer/Reaction: Barbara

For a F2P team composition, the best way to create a team is to focus on the reactions. With Lisa and Barbara in the team, you will be able to create Elemental Reactions with Ayaka’s Cryo ability. Kaeya will serve as your support character because he has the same element as Ayaka. Kaeya will be serving as a substitute for both Ayaka and Lisa for when you need to put them aside. Barbara serves as both your Healer and main Reactor because Cryo and Hydro characters work the best for a permafreeze combo.

Recommended Team Composition

  1. Main DPS: Ayaka
  2. Sub DPS: Kazuha
  3. Reaction: Xinqiu
  4. Healer: Diona

If you have both Ayaka and Kazuha in your team, consider putting them in your team. With Ayaka, Kazuha, and Xingqiu in your team, you’ll be able to make strong Elemental Reactions. For this composition, you’ll be relying mostly on Ayaka’s Elemental Skill and Burst, Kazuha’s Swirl, and Xinqiu’s Hydro abilities to create maximum damage. Diona will serve as both your support and your healer in this case.

How to Ascend Ayaka

Ascending Ayaka is no easy task. While they can all be found in Inazuma, there are a few materials that might be a bit hard to farm, especially if you’re a new player. To get materials for Ayaka, make sure that you have at least unlocked the Perpetual Mechanical Array boss in Jinren Island.

That said, here are the materials that you will need to ascend Ayaka on Genshin Impact.

PHASE LEVELS MORA COST ASCENSION MATERIALS LOCAL SPECIALTIES COMMON MATERIALS

Building a Formidable Cryo Character

When it comes to building Cryo characters, always remember that your best bet at getting maximum damage is if you equip them with a full Blizzard Strayer artifact set. Artifacts play a crucial role in any Genshin Impact build and Ayaka’s build is no exception. Ayaka is made to be a DPS so it’s best to consider that when curating a build for her. While you can build her as a support for other characters, it takes away from her true nature as a primary damage dealer. Building Ayaka can be a bit tedious because a bit of farming is required to get her Ascension materials. But when you manage to create a build for her, she’s easily one of the strongest Cryo characters in the game.
