Who Is Bennett?

Bennett is a playable Pyro character, just like Genshin Impact’s Klee. He is known for being one of the best support characters in the game for his ability to heal and buff his comrades during battle. He is well-sought after by gamers because of his great support abilities and often, many players prefer to build Bennett instead of other support characters.

Above and beyond that, Bennett is a member of the Mondstadt Adventurers’ Guild. He is hardworking, optimistic, and passionate about adventuring. However, not a lot of his fellow adventurers like to work with him because of his infamous bad luck. Nonetheless, that never stopped Bennett from venturing out and carving out his out path. He is the sole member of “Benny’s Adventure Team” but he occasionally has characters like Traveler and Razor by his side whenever their paths cross.

Despite his fair share of bad luck, many players consider Bennett to be the heart of their team. He is a character that you would want to have on your roster as a supporting character or as a DPS.

How to Get Bennett on Genshin Impact?

If you want to get Bennett in Genshin Impact, you’re in luck. He is a 4* character which makes him a bit easier to get than most characters. You can get Bennett in all of the available banners in the game. From the Limited Character banner down to the Permanent Standard Banner, you have an equal chance of pulling Bennett in all of them.

There will be instances where Bennett is part of the Limited Character Banner as a feature character. This only means that there is a rate-up in his drops which makes him much easier to get. However, you don’t need to wait for his rate-up since you’ll be able to get him in all of the banners (including the weapon banner).

In Genshin Impact, you get a 4* weapon or character for every 10th wish/pull that you make. Gacha mechanics are in play here because this is still ultimately a game of luck and there is no guarantee that you’ll still be able to get him. Still, you have more chances of pulling Bennett than other characters in the game.

How to Use Bennett on Genshin Impact?

Bennett is a versatile character in Genshin Impact. Most players use him as a support character but you can also use him as a DPS. It’s essential that you know or keep track of his Combat Talents because they play a big role in the damage that Bennett makes. You’ll also be able to see which of his talents you should prioritize to make sure that you’re balancing out his skills.

With that, here’s a quick rundown of Bennett’s Combat and Passive Talents that you should be aware of.

Combat Talents

The best way to maximize Bennett’s talents is to follow this sequence when leveling up: Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > Normal Attack. A huge deal of his damage will come from his Elemental Skill so you will need that if you want your Bennett to at least have a decent amount of damage.

Strike of Fortune (Normal Attack)
  • Normal Attack – Performs give rapid strikes.
  • Charged Attack – Unleases two rapid sword swings (consumes stamina).
  • Plunging Attack – Deals AoE DMG upon impact.
Passion Overload (Elemental Skill)
  • Press – Delivers a swift flame strike that deals Pyro DMG.
  • Hold – Delivers effects depending on the charge level.
    • Level 1 – Two strikes that deal Pyro DMG and launches opponents.
    • Level 2 – Three consecutive attacks that deal Pyro DMG. Note that the last attack will trigger an explosion that will launch both the enemy and Bennett.
Fantastic Voyage (Elemental Burst)
  • Creates an Inspiration Field that deals Pyro DMG.
  • The Inspiration Field heals party members when their HP is below 70%. Consequently, if your HP is above 70%, you will gain an ATK Bonus.

Passive Talents

As with other characters, Bennett’s passive talents cannot be leveled-up. At most, you can only unlock them through Character Ascencion. Still, it’s best to take note of them because you can take their traits into consideration when you’re creating a build for Bennett.

Rekindle (1st Ascension Passive) Decreases the cooldown of Passion Overload by 20%.
Fearnaught (4th Ascension Passive) Passion Overload’s cooldown is decreased by 50% if you’re inside the Fantastic Voyage circle.
It Should Be Safe… (Utility Passive) When Bennett is dispatched on an expedition in Mondstadt, the time consumed decreases by 25%.

What Are Bennett’s Constellations?

Since you can easily obtain Bennett in any of the banners, gathering copies of him for constellations won’t be hard. That said, most players by now will have at least three or four constellations of Bennett at most. You won’t have a lot of trouble unlocking his constellations especially if you frequently wish on any of the banners.

That said, here’s a quick overview of Bennett’s constellations to keep you guided:

IMPORTANT

Do not activate Bennett’s sixth constellation (Fire Ventures with Me) unless you need to. This constellation will infuse Sword, Polearm, and Claymore characters with Pyro when they are within the radius of Fantastic Voyage. Do not unlock this constellation unless you want your characters to end up infused with Pyro. This won’t allow you to perform any Elemental Reactions. Only unlock his constellations up to five.

  • Grand Expectation – The ATK increase of Fantastic Voyage doesn’t have an HP restriction anymore. It also grants an additional 20% of Bennett’s Base ATK.
  • Impasse Conqueror – Bennett’s Energy Recharge increases by 30% when his HP is below 70%.
  • Unstoppable Fervor – Increases the maximum upgrade level of Passion Overload by 3. Max level cap is now 15.
  • Unexpected Odyssey – When you use a Normal Attack as the second attack of Passion Overload, it allows an additional attack to be performed.
  • True Explorer –  Increases the maximum upgrade level of Fantastic Voyage by 3. Max level cap is now 15.
  • Fire Ventures with Me – Sword, Claymore, or Polearm characters within the radius of Fantastic Voyage will have their weapons infused with Pyro and they will gain a 15% Pyro DMG bonus.

Best Bennett Genshin Impact Build

When it comes to building Bennett in Genshin Impact, the important thing that you have to consider is his role in your team. Bennett shines the most when he uses a support build rather than a DPS build, but you can build him as the latter to give it a try. The best thing to do in most cases is to try and balance it out by giving him artifacts that will boost his Elemental Burst while still doing damage.

That said, here are some builds for Bennett in Genshin Impact that you can try using:

Recommended Bennett Build

Weapon Artifacts
  • Aquila Favonia (5*)
  • Summit Shaper (5*)
  • Festering Desire (4*)
  • The Black Sword (4*; Battle Pass Weapon)
  • Lion’s Roar (4*)
  • 2-piece Crimson Witch of Flames with 2-piece Noblesse Oblige with focus on ATK%, Pyro DMG, Crit Rate/DMG, and Elemental Mastery.
  • A two-piece Crimson Witch of Flames will increase the character’s Pyro DMG by 15% and a two-piece Noblesse Oblige increases their Elemental Burst DMG by 20%.

Ideally, this is the best build for Bennett in Genshin Impact. You’ll be able to get a 15% additional Pyro DMG Bonus and an additional 20% Elemental Burst DMG. This is a great combination for Bennett because you’ll be relying on his Elemental Skill for damage. The Pyro DMG from the Crimson Witch of Flames set will be of great help if you want your Bennett to deal a decent amount of damage. Additionally, the Elemental Burst DMG from the Noblesse set is great because it deals AoE Pyro DMG to opponents.

As far as weapons go, the best weapon for this is the Aquila Favonia, Festering Desire, and the Lion’s Roar. All of these swords have ATK as their main stats, so it’s up to you which one you prefer.  Bear in mind that Festering Desire is a limited event weapon during The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event in Version 1.2 As of writing, you cannot obtain this weapon elsewhere. That said, you can consider The Black Sword and Lion’s Roar as the best alternatives to that.

Support Bennett Build

Weapon Artifacts
  • Mistsplitter Reforged (5*)
  • Aquila Favonia (5*)
  • The Alley Flash (4*)
  • Prototype Rancour (4*)
  • Favonius Sword (4*)
  • Complete Noblesse Oblige set OR a Complete Maiden Beloved set with a focus on Energy Recharge, HP%, Flat HP, and Healing Bonus.
  • A complete Noblesse Oblige set grants the character an additional 20% Burst DMG and also increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12 seconds when an Elemental Burst is in play. Meanwhile, a complete Maiden Beloved set grants a 15% increase in Character Healing Effectiveness and increases the healing received by all party members by 20% for 10 seconds.

For Bennett’s support build, you will need artifacts that will compliment his Elemental Burst. His buffs and healing abilities come from his Burst so a full Noblesse Oblige set is your best bet at this so it can deliver damage while buffing your allies. Alternatively, you can also swap it out with a full Maiden Beloved set so that it increases his healing abilities and heals your team faster. As far as weapons go, you can use any of the choices in this list; it just depends on what you currently have in your inventory. We suggest that you focus on the artifacts for this Bennett build because that’s where the effectiveness of your Elemental Burst depends on.

Again, Bennett’s support build is one that you should consider using. His Elemental Burst is more effective and it gives your team better chances of surviving a hard fight. However, with this as your build, you might want to consider adding another healer to your team as Bennett’s healing alone might not suffice.

DPS Bennett Build

Weapon Artifacts
  • Mistsplitter Reforged (5*)
  • Aquila Favonia (5*)
  • Iron Sting (4*)
  • Festering Desire (4*)
  • The Black Sword (4*; Battle Pass Weapon)
  • Blackcliff Longsword (4*)
  • Complete Crimson Witch of Flames set OR Complete Thundering Fury set with a focus on ATK%, Elemental Master, Pyro DMG, Crit Rate/DMG, and Energy Recharge
  • A complete Crimson Witch of Flames set grants a 15% Pyro Damage Bonus and increases the damage made by elemental reactions (40% increase for Overload and Burning; 15% for Vaporize and Melt). Meanwhile, a complete Thundering Fury set will enable Bennett to spam his Elemetal Skill and generate a lot of energy for the team.

Lastly, we have Bennett’s DPS build. While it is uncommon for Bennett to end up as a player’s main DPS, it isn’t a rare occurrence as he is also an effective Pyro character.

For artifacts, the best for a Pyro DPS is the Crimson Witch of Flames set. By far, this is the best artifact set for anyone who wants to build a Pyro DPS. Alternatively, you can also use Thundering Fury but this works best if you have an Electro support character on your teams such as Fishcl, Beidou, Lisa, or Kujo Sara. The Thundering Fury set allows you to spam Bennett’s Elemental Skill and deal raw Pyro DMG while generating huge amounts of energy for the entire team. Thundering Fury with Electro supports also allows you to deal more Overload damage.

In terms of weapons, the best for a DPS build is Aquila Favonia, Iron Sting, and Festering Desire. You can, of course, mix and match weapons to see which will best suit your build.

What Is the Best Team Composition for Bennett?

Since Bennett is mainly a support character, he works well with any team in Genshin Impact. However, if you want to create a team that will best complement Bennett’s skills,  here are a couple of suggestions that you can consider when it comes to team composition.

Recommended Team

  • Support / Healer – Bennett
  • Main DPS – Diluc
  • Sub-DPS – Eula
  • Support – Venti / Kaedehara Kazuha

For the recommended team, you main your Support and Healer to be Bennett. Next, you need a strong Pyro DPS that can deal damage but still act as a battery for Bennett so he can easily recharge energy and spam his Skill and Burst. For your Sub-DPS, you can use Eula as she deals a decent amount of damage and can work whenever Diluc is still recovering. Lastly, you want an Anemo character like Venti or Kazuha on your team because they’ll be in charge of the crowd control.

  • DPS / Healer – Bennett
  • Sub-DPS / Support – Xiangling
  • Reaction – Kaeya
  • Support – Anemo Traveler

Most players will already have these characters in their roster. It’s the simplest build that you can use for Bennett especially when you’re just starting out. Bennett will serve as your Healer and your main DPS for this composition. Xiangling will be your Sub-DPS and she’ll also serve as Bennett’s battery so you can spam his Burst and Skill. Kaeya and Traveler both serve as supports in this case. Kaeya is your main reactor because his Cryo element will create a Melt reaction with Bennett. The Anemo Traveler, on the other hand, can create Swirls with her Skill and Burst to deal more damage.

How to Ascend Bennett in Genshin Impact

Bennett’s Ascension Materials are fairly easy to obtain. You can obtain the Agnidus Agate and the Everflame Seed whenever you fight against the Pyro Regisvine. You can get the Insignias from fighting against Treasure Hoarders that you’ll find scattered across Liyue and in some parts of Mondstadt (including Dragonspine). As for the Windwheel Aster, you’ll find them across Mondstadt but you’ll probably have extra stocks of this since this is also the local specialty needed to ascend Traveler.
