Minecraft has a lot of useful items and crafts hidden inside its code. Thus, players want to have enough storage to put them in. However, armor stands out because you can’t stack multiple armor pieces in a single inventory slot, unlike most items. Overall, lugging around multiple sets of armor on either chests or player inventory can be a hassle. So what do you craft in the game to save space? Build a Minecraft armor stand!
What Is a Minecraft Armor Stand?
A Minecraft armor stand is exactly what it says on the tin; it’s a stand for a player’s armor. Usually, players either don’t want to waste space in placing armor on chests, or they want to show off. And by showing off, we mean brandishing their fully enchanted Netherite Armor or their assortment of player and mob heads.
Either way, the armor stand is useful in storing armor, and showing off how rich a player is in Minecraft. So, if a player wants to show their stacked armor or riches, they get an armor stand.
What to Prepare Before Making a Minecraft Armor Stand
Making an armor stand is an easy endeavor, you only need a few items. Most of these items can be gained right at the start of the game. The ingredients of a Minecraft armor stand are as follows:
- Six Sticks
- One Smooth Stone Slab
How to Craft Sticks and Smooth Stone Slabs
We now know that we need Sticks and Smooth Stone Slabs to create a Minecraft armor stand. However, these ingredients are craftable items, and they rarely generate naturally. To create the items in question you’ll need:
To create Sticks, you’ll need to punch or cut down trees to get logs/wood. After doing this, you need to craft planks and then sticks. To create planks, simply put as much wood/logs as you need in the crafting tab. After that, put two planks, any plank, in a straight two long panel line to create sticks. You need to do this seven times to create seven sticks for the armor stand.
Meanwhile, Cobblestone is one of the necessary Minecraft blocks that players will encounter when mining. They’re created when players mine Stone, which will turn to Cobblestone immediately after mining.
After they mine enough Cobblestone, players need to create a Furnace. A Furnace costs 8 Cobblestones and is made by encircling the center of the 3×3 crafting grid with Cobblestone, leaving an open middle. Usually, a Furnace is how players can create food from animal meat that players killed or to smelt ores. However, we’ll use it to smelt stone. However, to use a Furnace, we’ll need a way to light it. Usually, that can be done with just wood, but since we need wood to make sticks, we’ll have to use Coal.
Coal is extremely straightforward; this item is used to provide heat on a Furnace for it to do its job. Do note that Coal has a set time before its fuel runs out. So, if you want to let the Furnace flame last longer, you’ll need to put Coal stacks, or blocks, in.
Step-by-Step Guide on How to Make a Minecraft Armor Stand
Creating a Minecraft armor stand is a simple thing, it’s the gathering of resources to create the items for it that complicate things. To start us off, let’s talk about how you can make a Minecraft armor stand.
- Go to the Crafting Table to open the Crafting Menu. To do this, simply right-click on the Crafting Table. Make sure that the materials are inside your inventory.
- Once you’ve opened the Crafting Menu on the Crafting Table, you’ll see a 3×3 grid. This is where you craft many of the items in the game. If you don’t use the Crafting Table, you’ll have a 2×2 grid instead, which limits what items you can craft.
- Place the sticks on all three top slots, the middle slot, and on the left and right bottom slots.
- Place the Smooth Stone Slab in between the two sticks on the bottom slots.
- And done! You have a Minecraft Armor Stand. The Armor Stand will appear on the right side of the Crafting Grid if done correctly. Simply put it on your inventory, and place it where you want it to go.
Are Minecraft Armor Stands Upgradable?
No, armor stands aren’t upgradeable, they can only be stripped, and then given better armor.
Are There Different Tiers to Armor Stands?
If you want to be specific, there are certain so-called tiers of armor stands based on what armor you put on them. Of course, Netherite armor is good and all, but what about Enchanted Netherite armor? Diamond’s great, but you want the Enchanted Diamond armor. The armor stand is just an item to showcase the riches of a player. After all, nothing says rich than having extra armor to put on armor stands.
