A great Teemo build makes use of Teemo’s innate skills as a crafty Yordle of Bandle City. Hailed as the “Swift Scout” by Tristana and the accompanying in-game lore, Teemo is probably one of the more famous characters in League of Legends: Wild Rift alongside Arcane’s Jinx and the wily Miss Fortune. Teemo has a childish personality and looks as cute as a dressed-up red panda, but do not let that fool you. He is a speedy and versatile marksman with poison magic up his sleeves. If you want to learn how to make use of these powers to the fullest, take a look at our Teemo guide and find the best Teemo build for your play style!

Getting to Know Teemo
One of the many Yordle denizens of Bandle City, Teemo is well known among his kin. He is a bit of an oddball, even by Yordle standards, and is normally as outgoing and friendly as other Yordles when in the city. Once outside the city on a mission as part of the famed Scouts of the Mothership, he displays his oddness. As if turning into a different person, Teemo takes to the solitude of solo missions well and showcases his danger and effectiveness in battle with poisons and guerrilla warfare. With a uniquely large record of success against would-be infiltrators of Bandle City, Teemo is one of the most dangerous Yordles alive with his signature blowgun. In recent times, Teemo has started to be more open on missions due to his friendship with Tristana, the leader of the Bandle Gunners.
In-game, Teemo is one of the best marksmen/mages to play with. Due to his easy-to-understand skillset and abilities, Teemo is perfect for beginners and has a low difficulty rate. Aside from being a beginner-friendly champion, Teemo has a “guerilla” play style perfect for aggressive players on the Baron/Solo lane. A good Teemo build will let you dominate during the early game with his strong and heavy-hitting magic damage abilities and auto-attacks. In the late game, Teemo will feel a little lacking due to his weak HP and defenses.
Throughout the game, players will have to rely on stealth abilities, speed, and consistent debuff attacks to carry the game with Teemo. He is also unsuited to be a team fighter and has poor AP scaling. Aside from these, he is also weak to crowd control abilities but has strong burst damage. Teemo-main players should always take their “guerrilla” warfare abilities into consideration and focus on hit-and-run tactics.
Skills and Attacks
Skills | Effects (at maximum levels)
Blinding Dart | Teemo blowdarts a target dealing 220 magic damage (220 + 60% AP) that applies the blind debuff for 2 seconds. Blinded enemies will miss their targets dealing no damage or on-hit effects.
Move Quick | Passively grants a 25% movement speed buff if Teemo is not attacked for the past 5 seconds.
When used, Teemo will roll forward and then sprint for 3 seconds with a 50% movement speed buff. |
|
Guerrilla Warfare | When activated, Teemo will be camouflaged from enemies after a delay. This camouflage remains so long as Teemo is hidden from enemy champions and turrets and has not attacked or used offensive abilities.
Teemo will get a 60% attack speed buff for 5 seconds after exiting camouflage mode. |
|
Noxious Trap (Ultimate) | Teemo tosses a camouflaged mushroom trap that activates when stepped on. It deals 200 magic damage (200 + 30% AP) when detonating and 300 magic damage (300 + 450% AP) for 3 seconds afterward. It also applies a 60% slowing debuff for 3 seconds.
Toxic Shot (Passive) | Teemo’s attacks will deal an additional 8 bonus magic damage on impact with an extra 7 magic damage (7+8% AP) for over 4 seconds. |
Guerrilla Warfare > Blinding Dart > Auto-Attacks > Move Quick > Noxious Trap
The best attack combo for Teemo is for him to stealthily get into position with Guerrilla Warfare and wait for enemies. This is followed by a quick Blinding Dart to the main damage-dealing enemy champion with auto-attacks to defeat them. When being pushed, a combined Move Quick and Noxious Trap will allow Teemo to escape while throwing debuffs at pursuing enemies. This combo also works with Move Quick and Auto-Attacks switched in the order depending on how close enemies are to Teemo.
Guerrilla Warfare > Blinding Dart > Noxious Trap > Auto-Attacks > Move Quick
A Teemo player should always have an aggressive play style to make full use of his abilities. Your first ability focus should be on leveling up Blinding Dart due to its blindness debuff. This should be followed up by Guerrilla Warfare and Move Quick. Guerrilla Warfare lets Teemo circle around the battlefield unseen and surprise enemies. Move Quick, meanwhile, will let Teemo charge forward or escape bad situations. Finally, Noxious Trap should be taken when available to increase Teemo’s ability pool and flexibility.
Noxious Trap
As we explained earlier, Noxious Trap can be used effectively in attacks and defense moves. Depending on the situation, Noxious Trap can change the flow of the game by quickly downing slowed enemy champions. Those wondering how to play Teemo should know that his abilities are perfect as a solo-laner or as lane support when combined with a compatible play style.

Best Item Builds for Teemo
Now for the item builds for this Teemo. Due to his versatility and skills in causing heavy damage, Teemo has two main roles. His first role is a debuff machine that deals consistent damage with strong paralyzing debuffs. His second role is as attack damage carry (ADC), which gives consistent damage dealing due to his offensive abilities. Depending on your team’s needs and your own play style, you may need to use one or the other item build.

Debuff Dealing Teemo Build
Items: Liandry’s Torment, Mercury’s Threads, Nashor’s Tooth, Rylai’s Crystal Scepter, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Morellonomicon
The first build is the debuff-dealing Teemo build that is perfect for most battles and encounters. This build makes full use of Teemo’s abilities and is perfect for soloing the Baron lane. The first item to get is Liandry’s Torment, which buffs Teemo’s maximum health and ability power. It also adds the Torment ability that adds 1% of an enemy’s max health as bonus damage over 3 seconds. This damage doubles when enemies are slowed or immobilized and is perfect when used with Noxious Trap.
The second item to get is Mercury’s Threads which increases movement speed and magic resistance. It also reduces the duration of most debuffs by 35% due to the Tenacity ability. Nashor’s Tooth, on the other hand, adds attack speed, ability power, and ability haste which will make Teemo’s abilities deal more damage and reload faster. Rylai’s Crystal Scepter, Rabadon’s Deathcap, and Morellonomicon add even more ability power and max health to buff Teemo’s small HP pool.
Since some players know how to counter Teemo with this build, you can add either the Stasis Enchant or the Locket Enchant, depending on the countering hero. For tank-killers and heavy ADCs like Zed or Fizz, the Stasis Enchant will be perfect to protect Teemo. The Locket Enchant, on the other hand, is a good way to buff Teemo against area-of-effect damage and crowd-control abilities.
ADC Teemo Build
Items: Blade of the Ruined King, Mercury’s Threads, Nashor’s Tooth, Runaan’s Hurricane Wind’s Fury, Liandry’s Torment, Rapid Firecannon
Compared to Teemo’s debuff dealing build, which focused on buffing his abilities, the ADC Teemo build will focus on buffing his physical and magic damage. The first item, Blade of the Ruined King, gives a big boost to attack damage and attack speed. Its abilities deal extra bonus damage with each hit. This item also has the “Drain” ability, where enemy Champions hit with three attacks or abilities deal an extra 30 to 100 magic damage and steal 25% of their movement speed for 2 seconds. Drain is perfect when combined with Teemo’s Noxious Trap to severely slow them. Mercury’s Threads gives an even increase in movement speed and magic resistance.
Nashor’s Tooth and Runaan’s Hurricane Wind’s Fury add attack speed, ability power, ability haste, and critical rate. These two items increase Teemo’s attack speed, ability use, and critical hit rate. Liandry’s Torment adds a good bit of extra max health and ability power. It also gives the Torment ability that increases damage on slowed or immobilized enemies.
Finally, Rapid Firecannon gives another good boost to Teemo’s critical hit rate and attack speed. This item could be critical in the late game due to its Energized and Firecannon Barrel abilities. The abilities extend Teemo’s range and give him an edge in the late game.
Best Rune Builds for Teemo
Compared to his item builds, there are only four compatible Teemo runes for him. This Teemo rune build will support both his ADC build and Debuff-dealing builds without any problems.

Runes: Grasp of the Undying, Brutal, Second Wind, Sweet Tooth
Grasp of the Undying is Teemo’s main keystone rune due to its synchronicity with Teemo’s aggressive play style. This rune gives a “stack” whenever Teemo gets into combat. Once it reaches 4 stacks, Teemo’s next basic attack deals additional damage to enemy champions and gives additional health to Teemo. Brutal, on the other hand, simply gives additional attack damage or ability power with each attack. Second Wind and Sweet Tooth, meanwhile, are meant to support Teemo’s HP and defense. Second Wind restores 5 health every five seconds while Sweet Tooth increases healing from Honeyfruit.
Summoner Spell for Teemo
Similar to the rune Teemo build, his compatible summoner spells are also limited. There are only two spells that fit Teemo properly, an offensive and a defensive spell.
Spells: Ignite and Flash
The offensive spell, Ignite, sets an enemy champion on fire for 5 seconds. This increases Teemo’s champion kill rate when combined with Blinding Dart and auto attacks to fully kill enemies with less than 50% HP.
Flash, on the other hand, compliments Teemo’s scout abilities by allowing him to teleport a short distance away. This is perfect for quickly moving through the battlefield when combined with Move Quick and Guerrilla warfare.
