How channel points predictions work
Creators or moderators set an event and possible outcomes. Viewers use Channel Points to predict the result before the prediction closes. Twitch says viewers who guess correctly win a proportionate share of the Channel Points pool. Successful predictions often yield additional channel points as rewards, creating a cycle of engagement. Channel Points are a customizable points program that lets streamers reward their community with perks.
How to join a prediction on your phone
Viewers can access Predictions by going to the Channel Points store. The prediction interface typically appears as a dedicated section within the chat interface or as an interactive overlay on the video player. Once there, you can see any active prediction for the current live stream, select your predicted outcome, and confirm your wager of Channel Points. The result is shown after the prediction window closes, and winners receive their share of the pool automatically.
How streamers start a prediction
Creators and moderators can start predictions by using the chat command /prediction or by going to Stream Manager in the Creator Dashboard, then selecting the + icon under Quick Actions, choosing Start a Prediction, then Add. Twitch also documents Mod View, where a Predictions widget appears in the left-hand dock for creating or managing predictions.
