Best Mobile Games Like Dead By Daylight

Dead by Daylight established its popularity due to its innovative and unique mix of genres and mechanics. For the same reason, it is hard to find a game that is exactly similar to Dead by Daylight. So, for this list, we did not just look at a game’s gameplay and genres; we also looked into its plot, feel, themes, and just how much fun we got by being scared!

The games on this list are not exactly like Dead by Daylight in terms of their gameplay loop. To help you pick a game, we will add a short description of each game, its differences from DBD, and which genres it fits more into. Aside from that, we will also add a link to each of the game’s Google Play Store and Apple App Store pages (if applicable), its publisher, the platforms it’s on, how much it costs, and the suggested age rating. Without further ado, here is our list of Dead by Daylight-like games!

1. Identity V

Publisher: NetEase Games

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: Free with in-game purchases

Age Rating: Teen 12+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Survival, Horror, MMO

Anyone who has ever seen the film Coraline will be positively thrilled by the graphics of NetEase Games’ Identity V. With characters looking like stitched and soulless dolls with buttons for eyes, Identity V has certainly set itself apart from Dead by Daylight’s own gritty and gory art style. That aside, Identity V is basically Dead by Daylight with different player skins. Identity V features everything you can do in DBD, from running through obstacles to hindering killers to hiding in cabinets. If you want something different from DBD but not too different, Identity V should be your first choice.

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: Free with in-app purchases

Age Rating: 16+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Survival, Horror, MMO

Another game on this list of the best mobile games like Dead by Daylight, Horror Show – Online Survival is basically a “clone” of DBD. Equipped with its own list of killers, survivors, and maps, Horror Show is almost a 1-to-1 copy of DBD in terms of its gameplay loop. The main difference between the two games is Horror Show’s player perspective. It uses a top-down third-person view that is reminiscent of The Sims 3 normal player view. Aside from a few mechanical differences with how the game works, Horror Show is as functional as the DBD game might be.

3. Horrorfield

Publisher: Skytec Games

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Age Rating: Teen 12+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Survival, Horror, Crafting

A slightly distant third as a Dead by Daylight “clone”, Horrorfield also tries its best to follow DBD’s tried and tested horror formula. Similar to our previous choice, Horrorfield also uses a top-down third-person view as the player’s perspective. Compared to Horror Show’s graphics, though, Horrorfield’s art assets are clearly a generation or two behind. Aside from that, its main difference from DBD is its simple crafting system. This system lets you collect materials during playthroughs and create items to help your survivors live to win the game.

4. Alien: Isolation

Publisher: Feral Interactive

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: $14.99

Age Rating: Mature 17+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Survival, Horror, Sci-fi

Alien: Isolation is one of the games like Dead by Daylight that lets you experience the thrill of being chased. Played in the first person with AAA graphics, Alien: Isolation is a single-player experience that forces you to think more about escape and hiding than fighting back. Set in a space station, you have enough compartments, hallways, cabinets, and rooms to run and escape to in a thrilling game of tag with dire and fatal consequences.

Plot-wise, this game is based on Ridley Scott’s 1979 hit film Alien and continues the story of the Ripley family. Playing as Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the film’s Ellen Ripley, your mission is to head to Sevastopol space station and retrieve a flight recorder recovered from your mother’s ship. Throughout the game, Amanda will learn what really happened to her mother’s ship and discover that the flight recorder was not the only thing Sevastopol recovered.

6. Metel Horror Escape

Publisher: Linked Squad

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: Free

Age Rating: Teen 12+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Puzzle, Horror

Metel Horror Escape — yes, Metel — not Metal, is a bit different from the other games on this list. Created as a port of a PC original, Metel is a free early-access game. Played from a first-person perspective, Metel heavily leans into the puzzle-solving genre compared to other games like Dead by Daylight. This is not surprising since the game’s plot places you into the shoes of someone kidnapped by a butchering maniac.

Your main goal in the game is to escape from the house you’re locked in without the serial killer noticing. A feat that is easier said than done since he is still nearby and you are in the middle of nowhere. Should he find out about your attempts to escape, you will only have three chances before he ends your attempts for good.

We know what you may be thinking — what is so scary about Roblox? Isn’t it a game for kids? Like Minecraft, Roblox is an open-world sandbox where you can do whatever you want, but Roblox takes it a step further. While Minecraft lets you play with whatever you want in-game, Roblox lets you actually program the game you want to play! Due to this freedom, a few players have created their own games, like Dead by Daylight on Roblox! Currently, the best of these games is Dead by Roblox, created by Bromeri. That is not the only great horror game in Roblox, though. If you want to find a bit more frights, you should also look into other horror games on Roblox.

8. Five Nights at Freddy’s

Publisher: Clickteam LLC

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: $2.99

Age Rating: Teen 12+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Survival, Horror, Management

Okay, this entry is where it can get a bit contentious because people will choose their favorite one. If you ask us, though, nothing beats the original. There have been at least six different Five Nights at Freddy’s games in the series for both Android and iOS. All of these games (except for the management/simulation-focused FNaF 6) have similar gameplay. The original’s gameplay loop is simple you barricade yourself in a security booth to oversee Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza for a few nights. In the booth, you manage its battery supplies while controlling the building’s cameras and security doors. The animatronics, though, have a mind of their own – can you survive till morning

While the series has gameplay that is a bit far from other games like Dead by Daylight and their deathly games of “tag”, the FNaF series also has its share of screams and frights. After all, what is scarier than knowing that you are trapped, powerless, and defenseless with a man-eating haunted animatronic?

9. Among Us

Publisher: InnerSloth LLC

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: Free with in-app purchases

Age Rating: Everyone 10+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Social Deduction, Horror, Sci-Fi, MMO

Among Us is a hit online game in its own right and has a place in this list of games like Dead by Daylight. Aside from having 2D jellybeans as characters and its top-down perspective, Among Us and DBD’s main difference is their gameplay. While DBD’s gameplay assigns set roles to players, and you know who your friends and enemies are, Among Us does this differently by adding social deduction into the mix. The game does this by assigning “impostors” and “crewmates” at the game start. Crewmates have to finish all their tasks to win the game. Impostors, meanwhile, will try to kill or remove crewmates until they outnumber them. When someone calls a meeting or a dead body is found, players can choose someone to be tossed out of the airlock.

This was only a short explanation of the game, and we have a more in-depth Among Us review available if you want to learn more about it.

10. Hello Neighbor

Publisher: tinyBuild

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: Free with in-app purchases

Age Rating: Everyone 10+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Stealth, Puzzle, Horror

Compared to other games like Dead by Daylight, Hello Neighbor is probably most similar to Metel Horror Escape due to its focus on stealth and puzzle mechanics. Played in the first person, Hello Neighbor is all about looking into secrets hidden in your neighbor’s house and getting out alive.

The game has three acts which start with a scream from the house across the street. As you investigate and sneak in, Mr. Peterson (the AI) will start understanding how you keep coming in and prevent it. This means that how you get in and how you get out is especially important. You will face bear traps, maze-like hallways, confusing puzzles, and a man who might kill to keep his secrets hidden. While being chased around and having to hide is scary and fun, the game has an added mystery to it. What is happening at the neighbor’s place and how does it relate to you? As you go through the three acts, you will slowly unravel the mysteries of Mr. Peterson’s house.

Platform/s: Android and iOS

Price: $17.99 on the Google Play Store and $19.99 on the Apple App Store

Age Rating: Mature 17+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Visual Novel, RPG, Horror, Survival

Corpse Party: Blood Drive is the fourth game (plot-wise) in the classic Japanese horror game series Corpse Party. It follows the previous game’s hybrid visual novel/RPG mechanics. This means that players progress through the game from a third-person top-down perspective before shifting to visual novel-like voice-acted cutscenes and events. Without giving the plot away, we can say that this mix of dual-genre mechanics highlights the game’s elements of psychological horror, mystery, and gore to their fullest as you explore the otherworldly Heavenly Host Elementary School and the supernatural murders that occur within.

Price: Free with in-app purchases (Google Play Store), $4.99 (Apple App Store)

Age Rating: Mature 17+

Genres or Game Mechanics: Point and Click, Horror, Atmospheric, Sidescroller

Just like Among Us, Detention seems a bit out of place in this list of the best games like Dead by Daylight genre-wise. It fits right in terms of getting horrified out of your wits. Inspired by Taiwanese and other East Asian cultures, Detention is a point-and-click game. It is both eerie and unsettling, with art portraying faceless ghosts, twisted shadows, and a growing sense of unease throughout the game. Without spoiling the whole plot, the game explores the oppressive time of the White Terror in 1960s martial law Taiwan through the eyes of high schooler Wei Chung-ting as you realize the truth of the events around him.

A 3D first-person game, it takes a lot of cues from Silent Hill and Resident Evil games with their world exploration and inventory management mechanics. As players move along the world, they will encounter fully voiced events with other characters that offer decisions to change the game’s ending. Plot-wise, the game is like Corpse Party, as it traps you in a haunted school where understanding and knowing its haunted past offers a chance to escape.

It was made to show the psychological and physical toll of modern war inflicted on civilians. Instead of playing as elite soldiers, this game focuses on the average person trapped in bombed husks of their cities. You are in charge of managing a small group of survivors as the war continues around them. Will they live to see the end of the conflict or fall like many others have to starvation, disease, and murder?

As a point-and-click adventure game, you control the actions of Misfortune Hernandez as a voice leads her to the mysterious woods. Without spoiling anything about it, we can only say that in this game, “there is no right or wrong, only consequences.”
