Who Is Arataki Itto in Genshin Impact?
Arataki Itto is a 5-star playable Geo character and is known to be the leader of his own gang in Genshin Impact. Despite his menacing aura, his character is, in fact, quite silly, tender, and kind-hearted. Unfortunately, his character isn’t especially smart, though he is hard-working and well-respected by the gang he runs. He’s also fiercely competitive, though he’s temperate enough to know when to admit defeat.
The Inazuma City’s people also like him a lot — especially the kids — which speaks of his kind personality. However, despite the harmless nature of his silly pranks, his relationship with the Tenryou Commission isn’t the best.
Apart from his personality, Arataki Itto’s character background is also quite rich. That’s because he’s a half-blooded oni whose blood has weakened throughout the generations due to human and oni integrations. Despite him being a half-blood, Arataki Itto prides himself in his oni heritage. He’s grateful for the blue oni in ages past who sacrificed many things to integrate with the human world. Unsurprisingly, he also dislikes those who discriminate against his race.
In addition, Arataki Itto respects the pact made by oni and humans, so he doesn’t utilize his abilities for evil. He also does not persecute humans nor does he rob others of rewards. As for his habits, Arataki Itto tends to value his appearance and maintain it regardless of the weather conditions.
How to Get Arataki Itto in Genshin Impact?
Before you create an Arataki Itto build, you must understand how you can get a hold of the character. If you managed to make it to the Oni’s Royale Banner, then pulling a 5-star character once who isn’t Itto will guarantee that you’ll pull him on your next 5-star wish.
If you didn’t get any 5-star characters during your first try, you still have a chance of pulling Arataki Itto. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until your 75th wish for that to happen. That’s because the pity and soft pity systems will only increase your chances of pulling him after the 75th time. You’re sure to pull a 5-star character upon the 90th wish — although it’s not guaranteed to be Arataki Itto.
If you’re diligent, you can get a guarantee on pulling Arataki Itto if you make it to the 180th wish. However, it’s going to take a lot of exhausting tries and Primogems for that to happen. Lucky players might get him upon the first few wishes. Nonetheless, it’s unlikely because his base pull rate is 0.6%.
Oni’s Royale banner ended on July 12, 2022. However, you might still get a chance of pulling Arataki Itto on a banner rerun. There’s no guarantee from the developers on when that will happen, though.
Moreover, character reruns are usually inconsistent, so the opportunity may not come around again anytime soon. If you didn’t pull Itto during the Oni’s Royale banner, then creating an Arataki Itto build shouldn’t be your focus.

Arataki Itto Skills and Talents Guide
When you’re using him for combat, having a damage-heavy Arataki Itto build can benefit you tremendously. That’s because he’s good at dealing damage as the main DPS character. He normally uses a claymore and he even summons friends to assist him during a fight.
Furthermore, he’s a character who doesn’t reset his regular attack chains through dashing or using elemental skills. His fourth ascension passive also boosts his charged attack’s power and damage. Meanwhile, his elemental burst becomes proportionate with his defense.
We recommend prioritizing Itto’s normal attack and elemental burst for collecting ascension materials. Afterward, you can proceed with ascending his elemental skill. With that said, here’s a rundown of Arataki Itto’s attacks, elementals, and talents.
Arataki Itto Normal Attack
With an Arataki Itto build, your normal attack is called the Fight Club Legend. Here are its different variations:
- Normal Attack – up to four successive attacks, with the second and fourth strikes earning you one and two stacks of Superlative Superstrength
- Charged Attack – yields multiple Arataki Kesgiri attacks that don’t deplete stamina
- Moreover, every slash eats up one stack of your Superlative Superstrength, with the last stack generating a mighty smash.
- If you haven’t reserved any stacks, the charge attack will transform into a single Saichimonji Slash.
- Plunge Attack – Itto will hit the floor from midair and inflict AoE damage
Arataki Itto Elemental Skill
Itto’s Elemental Skill, the “Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!”, throws Ushi bull at the appointed position. When it hits, your character gets one stack of Superlative Superstrength. Upon using Ushi, Itto will taunt enemies and the Ushi will have a max HP based on Itto’s maximum HP. However, it will retreat if the HP goes down to zero.
Arataki Itto Elemental Burst
The elemental burst is dubbed “Royal Descent – Behold, Itto the Evil!” and replaces Itto’s sword with the Oni King’s Kanabou. This only happens for a brief period. However, while it lasts, your character will deal Geo damage with every attack.
Moreover, Itto will become faster, with his attack being raised depending on his defense’s status. Itto will also gain one stack of Superlative Superstrength upon striking the first and third time using normal attack combos.
Finally, the elemental burst will decrease Itto’s physical and elemental damage by 20%.
Passive Talent
Utilizing Itto’s passive Talents is important if you want to make your Arataki Itto build work efficiently. As such, here’s a list of the passive Talents you can use:
- Woodchuck Chucked – gives you a 25% chance of getting more wood when gathering from trees (the effect is part-wide)
- Arataki Ichiban – every consecutive strike of the Arataki Kesagiri will boost the following attack speed by 30%. It also renders you more resistant to interferences
- Bloodline of the Crimson Oni – the damage dealt by Arataki Kesagiri will increase by 35% of your defense
Arataki Itto Build Guide (DPS Build)
Recommended Weapon: Whiteblind
If you’re looking into how to build Arataki Itto, then getting a solid weapon should be your priority. Most people would think the best Itto weapon would be the Redhorn Stonethresher. After all, it can boost your defense by itself. Moreover, this phenomenon will strengthen Itto’s charge attack through the use of his passive talents.
However, the reason why we don’t recommend the Redhorn Stonethresher is that it’s difficult to get. That is unless you have a lot of disposable income you can throw away at Genshin Impact.
If you’re not filthy rich, then the Whiteblind weapon is the better choice. It’s craftable and also boosts your defense through the secondary stat. Moreover, both normal and charged attacks strengthen your attack and defense.
The weapon also stacks so you may acquire a 24% buff even while at the standard level. If you refine the weapon, you can even surpass the buffs Redhorn Stonethreser provides you.
Recommended Artifacts: Husk of Opulent Dreams (4-Piece Set)
Utilizing the right Genshin Impact artifacts is essential for creating an effective Arataki Itto build. Fortunately, you don’t need to rack your brain just to find out which one is best for him. That’s because most people already know that the Husk of Opulent Dreams suits him best.
If you get a basic 2-piece set, this artifact increases your defense by 30%. On the other hand, a 4-piece set yields tremendous buffs. For one, the Curiosity effect kicks in when Itto gets a stack after striking an opponent with a Geo attack. This triggers every 0.3 seconds whenever you’re on the field.
If you’re out of the field, you can get one stack every three seconds. The Curiosity effect can stack four times at most. Moreover, each stack adds 6% to your defense and boosts your Geo DMG bonus by 6%. After six seconds, you lose a stack if you don’t gain another Curiosity stack.
With that said, we recommend getting the 4-piece set to utilize this artifact to its fullest potential. If you’re looking into substats, we suggest getting DEF Sands, Crit DMG / RATE Circlet, or Geo DMG. Of course, make sure you balance these substats with your current Crit Rate and DMG ratio.
What Are Arataki Itto’s Constellations?
Pulling more than one of Arataki Itto is already a bit far-fetched. Nonetheless, it’s still possible and you can gain constellations when that happens. Here’s a run-down of the effects for more than one pull:
- Stay A While And Listen Up – Using burst will provide you with two stacks of Superlative Superstrength.
- You also gain an extra stack every 0.5 seconds for 1.5 seconds.
- Gather ‘Round, It’s a Brawl! – For each Geo character in your team, Itto’s skill cooldown timer will reduce by 1.5 seconds after implementing his burst.
- Also, for each Geo character in the team, Itto will gain six Energy.
- Horns Lowered, Coming Through – Gives an elemental skill level boost by three.
- Jailhouse Bread and Butter – Neighboring team members’ attack and defense will increase by 20% for 10 seconds after Itto uses a burst.
- 10 Years of Hanamizaka – Boosts your burst level by three.
- Arataki Itto, Present! – Increases your critical damage by 70% when using a charged attack.
- Also, when implementing Arataki Kesagiri, there’s a 50% possibility you won’t eat up a stack of Superlative Superstrength.
Arataki Itto Ascension Materials Guide
Like any Genshin character, you can only achieve Arataki Itto’s full potential if you fully upgrade him to level 90. Fortunately, you can upgrade him pretty quickly as long as you take the time to gather Itto’s ascension materials.
How can you achieve this? Firstly, remember that gathering the right materials won’t be an easy task. Some of them even compel you to travel to Inazuma’s farthest island. It will even force you to duel the lord of Rifthounds and make you go bug hunting.
Every phase increases the number of ascension materials you need, including Inazuma’s specialty item that only respawns after 48 hours. There’s also a world boss drop you need to hunt for. We’ve created a list of the six levels/phases and the corresponding materials you need.
Level | Regular Materials | Inazuma Specialty | Geo Gemstone | Regular Boss Drop | Mora |
20s | 3 Slime Condensates | 3 Onikabuto | 1 Prithiva Topaz Silver | – | 20,000 |
40s | 15 Slime Condensates | 10 Onikabuto | 3 Prithiva Topaz Fragments | 2 Riftborn Regalia | 40,000 |
50s | 12 Slime Secretions | 20 Onikabuto | 6 Prithiva Topaz Fragments | 4 Riftborn Regalia | 60,000 |
60s | 18 Slime Secretions | 30 Onikabuto | 3 Prithiva Topaz Chunks | 8 Riftborn Regalia | 80,000 |
70s | 12 Slime Concentrates | 45 Onikabuto | 6 Prithiva Topaz Chunks | 12 Riftborn Regalia | 100,000 |
80s | 24 Slime Concentrates | 60 Onikabuto | 6 Prithiva Topaz Gemstones | 20 Riftborn Regalia | 120,000 |
Where to Get Ascension Materials for Itto?
If you’re focusing on Slime items, these drop from slimes that you can kill. They come from all slimes, regardless of their elemental category. Moreover, these slimes are fairly common and are scattered all across Teyvat.
Meanwhile, Onikabuto only exists within Inazuma. You can look for them in the trees in the surrounding area. Alternatively, you can find them near the forge on Kannazuka Island or the Serpent’s Head on Yashiori Island. They’re also found around the Grand Narukami Shrine’s vicinity.
For the Geo Gemstones, you can find them as part of the drops from several bosses. These include weekly bosses like Azhdaha. You can also gather them from Geo Hypostasis, Golden Wolflord, Perpetual Mechanical Array, and the Ruin Serpent.
Finally, you can only gather Riftborn Regalia from Golden Wolflord, the world boss on Tsurumi Island.
The Best Team Composition for Arataki Itto
Many players like to team up Arataki Itto with Geo characters, specifically with Zhongli and Gorou. The latter has skills that give decent Geo buffs for the team. Meanwhile, the former’s skill resonates with Itto’s Ushi bull.
For the most part, you’ll be safe with using Geo teams if you’re going for an Arataki Itto build. That’s because these teams have neither weakness nor strength when it comes to elementals. Nonetheless, they’re a safe build to opt for.
On the other hand, you can use a support team if you dislike the idea of a Geo team. Ideally, you’d have to employ Yun Jin, Kuki Shinobu, and Shenhe. Shenhe can boost her attack or elemental power. Meanwhile, Yun Jin can strengthen your team’s attack when she bursts. If you also use Kuki Shinobu, we recommend giving her a full set of the Tenacity of the Millelith. This will boost your team’s attack each moment she deals damage using her skill.
If you can’t get any of these three characters, Xingqiu, Raiden Shogun, or Xiangling can also act as decent substitutes. They allow you to generate shields using Crystalize reactions more often. Moreover, you can include an Anemo character like Sucrose or Kazuha. These characters can help gather enemies into one group, allowing Itto to attack more efficiently.
Lastly, we suggest having a healer in your Arataki Itto team build. This is because Itto’s burst weakens his defenses. You can choose Diona for this because she heals and offers a powerful shield. You may also use Barbara as a substitute if you can’t get a hold of Diona.
Arataki Itto FAQs
Conclusion
Planning for your Arataki Itto build is certainly wise if you’ve managed to pull the famous 5-star gang leader. He’s a powerful character and has tons of passive Talents and solid skills to help your Geo team. Moreover, he’s exceptional at being the team’s DPS with others playing the role of support. However, the true challenge is whether or not you can pull him from another Oni’s Royale banner. If you have, then we highly recommend upgrading him and getting the most suitable weapon.
