Klee is a well-loved character in Genshin Impact. She was one of the first few 5-star characters to be released in-game and has become a favorite among players. She is a DPS character that many love to use because of the massive amounts of damage despite her childish and playful nature. Whether you are playing Genshin Impact in multiplayer or in solo runs, Klee is an explosive character you would want to include in your team.
However, carrying Klee won’t be easy. Although she is one of the best Genshin Impact characters, she is also has a unique playstyle that is hard to master. With that, here’s how you can build Klee with the right set of artifacts for solo runs or co-op runs. Also included in this article are guides about her combat talents, constellations, team composition, and ascension.
Who Is Klee in Genshin Impact?
Klee is one of Genshin Impact’s first characters to become playable after the game’s release in September 2020. Alongside Venti, an Anemo character, she was one of the first to be featured in a limited-character banner. She also makes history as the first Pyro Catalyst user in the game.
Milestones aside, Klee is the daughter of Alice, an eccentric adventurer from who Klee inherited her adventurous side. Klee is often considered to be intrepid and often destructive — much to the dismay of the Knights of Favonius who serve as her sitters while Alice is away.
Despite her age, Klee is an official member of the Knights of Favonius with the title of “Spark Knight”. Her strength in combat and destructive capabilities make her a very formidable opponent. She is known for the danger that comes with her presence and shouldn’t be underestimated.
She is a 5-star Pyro Catalyst user that takes her place as one of the first playable Genshin Impact characters.

How to Get Klee on Genshin Impact?
Klee is a 5-star character. She is only available for a limited time on character banners. If you want to wish for Klee, the best thing to do is to keep all your summoning materials intact until her next character banner.
Klee’s first character banner was part of the 1.0 version release. A rerun for her banner was held in 1.6 version update alongside the special event in the Golden Apple Archipelago. In her latest banner, she was joined by Sucrose, Fischl, and Barbara.
As with any gacha game like Genshin Impact, you will need to rely on luck for this one. Otherwise, you can always rely on the game’s “Pity System” where you a guaranteed to receive a 5-star character or weapon after 70+ pulls.
How to Use Klee on Genshin Impact?
Klee’s talents in Genshin Impact are helpful for both exploration and combat. Leveling up her combat talents is particularly useful especially if you don’t have any of her constellations. It’s a great way to make her stronger without having to spend much to get constellations.
That said, here’s a quick overview of Klee’s talents:
Combat Talents
When leveling up Klee’s talents, you want to follow this order: Normal Attack > Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill. Klee deals a large amount of damage with her Normal Attack so it’s best if you prioritize that first. Save the Elemental Skill for last because it isn’t as important as the Burst and the Normal Attack.
Kaboom! (Normal Attack) |
|
Jumpy Dumpty (Elemental Skill) |
|
Sparks ‘n’ Splash (Elemental Burst) |
|
Passive Talents
While you can’t level up Passive Talents, it’s still worth taking note of because they have properties that boost Klee’s attack. It also benefits the team as a whole. She can also help you to gather resources that can help in Character Ascension and buffs.
Pounding Surprise (1st Ascension Passive) | Whenever Klee’s Normal Attacks and Jumpy Dumpty deal DMG, she has a 50% chance to obtain an Explosive Spark that she can use on her next Charged Attack. This deals an additional 50% DMG. |
Sparkling Burst (4th Ascension Passive) | Whenever Klee’s Charged Attacks result in a Crit, all party members will have a chance to gain 2 Elemental Energy. |
All Of My Treasures! (Utility Passive) | Klee’s Utility Passive will display all the locations of nearby local specialties in Mondstadt on your mini-map. |
What Are Klee’s Constellations?
Klee has a total of six constellations. Her constellation is the Trifolium that can be activated when you get Klee’s Stella Fortuna from wishing. Unfortunately, you can’t use another character’s Stella Fortuna to level up Klee since each constellation is unique to its owner.
You don’t necessarily have to complete Klee’s constellations to deal massive amounts of damage. You can easily make up for it by building them properly with the right artifacts and weapons.
With that, here’s a rundown of Klee’s constellations:
- Chained Reactions – There’s is a chance to summon sparks from Attacks and Skills to bombard enemies. The DMG will be equal to 120% of Sparks ‘n’ Splash’s DMG.
- Explosive Frags – Opponents hit by Jumpty Dumpty’s mines will have a 23% DEF decrease.
- Exquisite Compound – Increases the maximum upgrade level of Jumpy Dumpty by 3.
- Sparkly Explosion – Klee’s departure from the field during the duration of Sparks ‘n’ Splash will trigger an explosion that will deal AoE Pyro DMG that is equal to 555% of her ATK.
- Nova Burst – Increases the maximum upgrade level of Sparks ‘n’ Splash by 3.
- Blazing Delight – Klee will regenerate 3 Energy for all party members every 3 seconds after using Sparks ‘n’ Splash. When the same attack (Sparks ‘n’ Splash) is used, all party members, regardless of element, will receive a 10% Pyro DMG Bonus.
Best Genshin Impact Klee Build
Similar to Diluc, Klee is a character that can’t be played as another role aside from Main DPS. Klee’s skillset is more viable as a DPS rather than a Support. You’ll also have a harder time conjuring up a build if you want her to be a Support character. Like Diluc, Klee’s skillset can only be maximized when you play her your Main DPS or as a Pyro DPS.
With that, here are a couple of builds that you can try out when you’re looking to build Klee in Genshin Impact:

Recommended Klee Build
Weapon | Artifacts |
|
|
This is the recommended build for Klee as you will be able to maximize her skills better. A two-piece Crimson Witch of Flames grants an additional 15% Pyro DMG Bonus while a two-piece Gladiator’s Finale will add 18% to your ATK. It’s a solid build for Klee because it puts focus on her attacks and her damage-dealing capabilities more.
In terms of weapons, the best ones to consider are the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds and The Windsith as they both promote Crit Rate/DMG. This build will allow you to make room for more adjustments in the future in case this build isn’t working for you.
Pyro DPS Klee Build
Weapon | Artifacts |
|
|
As it implies, this build focuses more on Klee’s Pyro DMG. To maximize the damage output, you can choose between a complete Crimson Witch of Flames set or a complete Wanderer’s Troupe set. A full Crimson Witch set grants a 15% Pyro DMG Bonus and increases the DMG made by Elemental Reactions such as Overload, Burning, Vaporize, and Melt. A full set Wanderer’s Troupe, on the other hand, grants +80 Elemental Mastery and increases the Charged Attack DMG by 35%. Both artifact sets are good for a Pyro DPS Klee to build but as much as possible, you want to use the full Crimson Witch set because it maximizes her output the most.
In terms of weapons, you can opt to use the Mappa Mare, which is the best weapon for Elemental Reactions as it boots the Elemental DMG made from reactions. You can also use The Windsith which boosts Base ATK, Elemental DMG, and Elemental Mastery. Lastly, you can also try using the Solar Pearl for an increase in Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst DMG.
DPS Klee Build
Weapon | Artifacts |
|
|
First, you have the complete Crimson Witch of Flames set which, as previously mentioned, gives a Pyro DMG and Elemental Reaction DMG Bonus. Alternatively, you can also use a two-piece Crimson Witch with a two-piece Noblesse Oblige if you can’t complete a Crimson Witch set. This alternative will give you a 15% increase in Pyro DMG and a 20% increase in Elemental Burst DMG. Both artifact sets are okay to use on Klee because you will need to be able to power up her Elemental Skil and Burst as this is where the bulk of her damage comes from.
For weapons, the best one to consider is the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, The Widsith and the Solar Pearl because it boosts Crit Rate and Crit DMG. Alternatively, you can also use Skyward Atlas and Dodoco Tales for a boost in ATK. Either of the weapons works really well with Klee.
What Is the Best Team Composition for Klee?
When forming a team with Klee in Genshin Impact, remember that she will need to be your Main DPS. You will need a team that can support and back her up on the field. The team that you’ll be forming with Klee also needs to have sufficient Elemental Reactions because Klee’s skillset relies on those the most.
With that, here are a couple of team compositions that you might want to try with Klee in Genshin Impact:
Recommended Team Composition
- Main DPS: Klee
- Sub-DPS: Mona
- Sub-DPS: Sucrose / Venti
- Support: Bennett
For this team composition, Klee will be your Main DPS and she will be the one on the field most of the time. For your first sub-DPS, you can choose either Mona or Xingqiu so it can trigger Vaporize DMG. You can also add Sucrose or Venti as another sub-DPS as they can help with crowd control. Lastly, Bennett is on the team as your primary support. He can also buff and heal your party so you won’t have any problem when dealing with stronger enemies. Bennett can also provide Elemental Resonance for Klee and lessen the cooldown of her Elemental Skill and Burst.
F2P-Friendly Team Composition
- Main DPS: Klee
- Sub-DPS: Xiangling
- Sub-DPS: Diona / Kaeya
- Support: Barbara
This team composition is similar to the recommended team composition. However, you’ll have Xiangling as a Sub-DPS and as your Elemental Resonance. You can place Diona or Kaeya in your team as your Reaction as they will help trigger the Melt reaction. Lastly, you can put Barbara as your primary support. Having Barbara in your team will also trigger Vaporize DMG. In all, this is a pretty solid build if you don’t have a lot of characters in your roster yet.
How to Ascend Klee in Genshin Impact
Klee’s Ascension Materials are relatively easy to obtain. You can easily get most of them in Mondstadt. However, you will have to venture to Liyue to obtain an Ascension Material from the Pyro Regisvine. To give you an idea of what to expect, you can check the chart below:
PHASE | LEVELS | MORA COST | ASCENSION MATERIALS | LOCAL SPECIALTIES | COMMON MATERIALS |
1 | 20 – 40 | 20,000 | x1 Agnidus Agate Sliver | x3 Philanemo Mushroom | x3 Divining Scroll |
2 | 40 – 50 | 40,000 | x3 Agnidus Agate Fragment | x2 Everflame Seed | x10 Philanemo Mushroom | x15 Divining Scroll |
3 | 50 – 60 | 60,000 | x6 Agnidus Agate Fragment | x4 Everflame Seed | x20 Philanemo Mushroom | x12 Sealed Scroll |
4 | 60 – 70 | 80,000 | x3 Agnidus Agate Chunk | x8 Everflame Seed | x30 Philanemo Mushroom | x18 Sealed Scroll |
5 | 70 – 80 | 100,000 | x6 Agnidus Agate Chunk | x12 Everflame Seed | x45 Philanemo Mushroom | x12 Forbidden Curse Scroll |
6 | 80 – 90 | 120,000 | x3 Agnidus Agate Gemstone | x8 Everflame Seed | x60 Philanemo Mushroom | x18 Forbidden Curse Scroll |
Building a Formidable Pyro Catalyst
Ultimately, Klee in Genshin Impact is one of the best characters that you can have in-game. She’s one of the most formidable Pyro characters in the game and one that can deal massive amounts of damage if you build her properly. In terms of damage, you can expect Klee to be at par with other DPS characters such as Diluc and Yanfei. Make sure that you also take into consideration the team that you will put her in because Klee makes more damage when Elemental Reactions are involved. The more reactions you have, the higher the damage that you’ll make. Klee is a great character to have and use so you won’t regret wishing for her or her constellations when her next banner comes.
